The digital co-working platform ConcentrAid was inspired by the PhD writing group of the Early Career Program (ECP). For a successful PhD it is important to acquire a regular writing routine. Fixed working hours with regular breaks are essential.
While the writing group meets regularly on campus during the semester, digital co-working sessions with ConcentrAid can be booked at any time.
How to ConcentrAid
Step 1: when do you want to work?
After registering, you can book a 50-minute focus session by clicking on your preferred time slot in the calendar. If you already see a person at your time slot, you can join him/her.
Step 2: Start on time
As you will be connected to a partner in a video call it is important to be punctual. You can enter a session 5 minutes before to prepare. At the beginning, state your goals for the next 50 minutes (e.g. write 2 paragraphs), switch off the microphone and start to work on your goal.
Step 3: When the session is over - take a break
Shortly before the end you hear a tone. Briefly discuss with your partner whether you have achieved your goals. Then there is time for a 10-minute break. Get a cup of coffee or do the laundry - it's best to do something very different from writing. And - are you ready for the next session?
Costs
After the first 3 free trial sessions, you can book an unlimited number of sessions for just 5 euros a month.
